About The Program

PM Yasasvi Central Sector Scheme of Top Class Education in Schools for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students 2023-24 is an opportunity offered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, to the students belonging to OBC, EBC, and DNT categories. The scheme aims to support meritorious students by funding their education from Class 9 onwards till they complete Class 12. The selected students will receive a scholarship of up to ₹1,25,000 for tuition, hostel fees, and other school charges.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • belong to the Other Backward Class(OBC)/Economically Backward Class (EBC)/Denotified Tribes (DNT) category
  • be studying in Class 9 to 12 in a recognised government/government-aided or private school
  • have an annual family income of less than or equal to ₹2,50,000
Benefits

Selected students will be granted a scholarship of up to ₹75,000 for Class 9 and 10, and ₹1,25,000 for Class 11 and 12 on an annual basis. This scholarship will cover tuition fees, hostel fees, and other necessary expenses as mandated by the school.

How can you apply?

Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:

Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below. 
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner' and click on the 'New Registration' tab.
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on the 'Continue' button. 
Step 5: Select the respective Aadhaar option, enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.  
Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the registration process. 
Step 7: Now click on the 'Fresh Application' tab and log in using the application ID and password.
Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.

Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill out the form correctly; no changes can be made once it is submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill out only one application, as multiple applications will cancel the form.

Selection Criteria

The selection of the student is based on the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria and state-wise merit lists prepared based on the marks obtained in the final exam of the previous class.

  • 30% of the scholarship is reserved for female students.
  • The number of slots available under the scheme for each State and class would be announced in the month of April each year.
  • Students enrolled in schools assisted under this scheme are not eligible for assistance from any other government scheme for the same items or purposes already covered by this scheme.
  • The selection criteria may be subject to modifications, and students are advised to refer to the latest guidelines provided by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
  • A committee will be formed to evaluate and shortlist top-performing schools that have consistently achieved a 100% pass rate in the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. The committee will be chaired by the Joint Secretary (BC) in the Ministry and will include representatives from the Department of School Education and NITI Ayog.
  • Payment will be disbursed in installments, with the final installment released no later than August 15th of each year.
  • Selected schools must have an Aadhaar-based attendance system in place that can be integrated with a central portal if necessary.
