About The Program

PM Internship Scheme 2025 is an opportunity provided by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India to high school passed students. The scholarship aims to provide internship opportunities to one crore youth through real-life experience in the top 500 companies in five years, thus bridging the gap between academic and industrial learning to increase employability. The selected candidates will receive a monthly grant of ₹5,000 with additional benefits.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be aged between 21 and 24 years (as of the last date for application submission)
  • have a family income not exceeding ₹8,00,000 
  • not be employed or studying full-time
  • have passed high school/higher secondary school OR
  • possess a certificate from an ITI/ diploma from a polytechnic institution/degrees such as BA, B.Sc., B.Com., BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc.

Note:-

  • Graduates from IIT, IIIT, IIM, NID, IISER, and national law universities are ineligible to apply.
  • Students with qualifications such as CA, CS, MA, CMA, MBA, BDS, MBBS or any master’s degree are ineligible.
  • Students pursuing/ internship/apprenticeship/skill training under a government scheme, or have completed an internship/apprenticeship under the National Apprenticeship Training System (NATS) or National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) are ineligible.
  • Students with a family member as permanent government employees are ineligible.
Benefits

Selected candidates will receive:-

  • Monthly assistance of ₹5,000 for 12 months out of which ₹500 will be provided by the company’s CSR and ₹4,500 will be provided by the government.
  • A one-time grant of ₹6,000 for incidental expenses.
  • Training costs and administrative costs (5%) will be provided by the company.
  • Insurance with a premium amount will be provided by the government.

Note:- The amounts will be provided to the interns through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) method.

How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below. 
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Click ‘Youth Registration’ at the top of the page.
Step 4: Enter a functional mobile number to receive an OTP.
Step 5: Enter the OTP and click ‘Submit’ to get a temporary password.
Step 6: Click ‘Login’ and enter valid credentials to log into your account.
Step 7: Enter the necessary details, upload the required documents and submit the application.

Selection Criteria

Candidates will be shortlisted for internships through the Portal based on their preferences and company requirements. The process will prioritize lower employability and aim for broader representation, promoting diversity and inclusivity among applicants, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Persons with Disabilities.

For each internship, roughly twice or thrice as many candidates, along with their resumes, will be forwarded to companies, which will select candidates according to their criteria. Once a company extends an offer, candidates can accept it through the Portal.

  • Interns must follow the company’s rules and regulations.
  • Interns are eligible for leave, a maximum of 2 months, in case of an emergency. The intern will not be provided with any assistance during the leave, however, they can rejoin after their leave and recover the lost period with additional tenure.
  • Interns will be regularly evaluated on their performance.

Answer:
The total internship tenure is 12 months.

Question 2: Will the interns get a permanent job after this internship?
Answer:
The internship is for training purposes only. The candidates are not promised a permanent position or hiring as a result of their completion of the internship.

Answer:
At least half of the internship tenure will be spent in an actual working environment, and not in the classroom.
