About The Program

Physical Research Laboratory offers Junior Research Fellowship 2017 leading to a Ph.D. degree and the following are the broad areas of ongoing research activities in PRL: Astronomy, Astrophysics, Solar Physics, Space & Atmospheric Sciences, Atomic & Molecular Physics, Optical Physics, Astrochemistry, Theoretical Physics, Geosciences and Planetary Sciences. The JRF programme will start in July 2017.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
  • Graduate and postgraduate in Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Geophysics, Ocean Science, Atmospheric Science, Space Science, and Environmental Science with at least 60%.
  • Students from any disciplines can apply but must have had Physics and Mathematics in their graduation.
  • Must have competed for any one of these three:
    • CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test, NET-JRF.
    • Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
    • Joint Entrance Screening Test

  2. Marksheets of graduation/post graduation/HSC/SSC/ [Candidates not having final M.Sc. marks/grades can provide aggregate marks/grades available up to last semester cleared. This is applicable to candidates whose M.Sc. will be completed in 2017.]
  3. Scorecard(s) of the nationalized exam(s) qualified from the list as mentioned above [pdf file of maximum 70kb size].
