About The Program

The Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation is offering five Education Support Awards of up to USD 5,000 each to assist low-income women with children who are pursuing education or training.

EligibilityDeadline Date : Closed

The applicant must be: 

  • A woman, at least 17 years of age
  • A mother, with minor children
  • Pursuing a vocational degree/certificate; or an associate's degree; or a first bachelor's degree; or a professional/master's/doctoral degree..
  • Enrolled in a not-for-profit, accredited institution or program during the 2017-2018 academic year.
  • From a low-income background (annual family income less than USD 20,000 for a family of 2; less than USD 24,000 for a family of 3; less than USD 28,000 for a family of 4)

Awardees will be selected based on:

  • Financial need
  • Personal circumstance
  • Educational path
  • Vocational or occupational goals
  • Service or activist or civic goals.
How can you apply?

Step 2- If you prefer to download, print and send via U.S. Mail, a fillable PDF is still available for download HERE.

step 2.1- Send TWO (2) collated, stapled COPIES OF YOUR APPLICATION

step 2.2- In an envelope large enough to fit WITHOUT FOLDING (Use 8.5 x11 or 9 x 12 envelope)
             ADDRESS: Patsy Takemoto Mink Foundation, PO Box 769, Granby, MA 01033. BY U.S. MAIL ONLY

step 2.3- Do not send via Certified Mail, Express Mail, FedEx, UPS, or similar. Do not request delivery signature. Applications are not accepted by e-mail
step 2.4- POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN AUGUST 1, 2017
step 2.5- Do not send transcripts, tax forms, court documents or other sensitive/confidential materials.
step 2.6- Please check all pages of both copies carefully, incomplete applications will not be considered.
step 2.7- Please note: The Foundation will notify awardees only in late October, by phone or email. We are unable to contact each applicant about the status of her application

Education Support Awards are disbursed in two separate installments over the academic year (one each semseter) and may be used for direct school expenses or for living expenses while you are enrolled in an educational program. Awardees will be notified by phone or email in late October.. Shortly after recipient notification, the list of awardees will be posted on this site.

(Please note: The Foundation will contact awardees only. We are not able to contact each applicant about the status of her application.)
