NSP Pre-Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities 2023-24 is an initiative of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disability, Government of India for physically challenged students of Class 9 or 10. The aim of the scholarship is to support students with disabilities in their studies and prepare them to earn their livelihood and find a dignified place for themselves in society. The selected candidates will receive a maintenance allowance, book grant, and disability allowance.

Deadline30-Nov-2023 Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must -
- be a regular full-time student of Class 9 or 10 of a school recognized by the Government or Central/State Board of Secondary Education (CBSE/SBSE)
- have more than 40% disability certified by the competent authority
- have an annual family income of less than INR 2,50,000 from all sources
Benefits The selected scholars will receive the following benefits -

How can you apply? Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps -
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner'and click on 'New Registration' tab.
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on the 'Continue' button.
Step 5: Enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.
Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Now click on the 'Fresh Application' tab and log in using the application ID and password.
Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.Note - All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

Selection Criteria
The following factors will be taken into consideration for selecting the scholars -
- Fulfilment of eligibility conditions
- Number of slots available to the State
- Recommendation of the State Education Department
- Academic merit of the candidate in the qualifying examination
Note - In the case of tie-in marks obtained by the students, the selection will be based on the percentage of disability. Furthermore, if a tie still prevails, the age will be taken into consideration and the older candidate will get the preference.

Terms and Conditions
- 50% of the total scholarships are reserved for female candidates. However, in case of an adequate number of female students are not available, the unutilised slots can be utilised by suitable male candidates.
- No more than two children with disabilities of the same parents can avail benefits under this scheme.
- The final selection of the candidates will be done by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities based on the recommendations of the concerned state government department.
- The amount of scholarship will be directly transferred into the bank account of the beneficiary through PFMS.
- The scholarship will not be awarded for training courses like Aircraft Engineer's Courses and Private Pilot Licence courses at Training - Ship Dufferin (Now Rajendra) courses at the Military College, Dehradun and courses at pre-examination training centres at all India and State levels.
