About The Program
NITK Surathkal Summer Internship Programme 2022 is an internship opportunity offered by the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal to graduate or postgraduate degree holders. The selected candidate is required to work on a DST-SERB funded project titled - ‘A Retinex Inspired Framework for Intensity Homogenization, Contrast Upgradation, and Restoration of Satellite and Aerial Images'. The candidate will receive a consolidated monthly fellowship of INR 5,000 per month.

To be eligible, an applicant must -
- Be studying in Indian Universities/Institutes
- Be the final year of their PG or Final/Pre-Final year in UG are encouraged to apply
- Hold a B.Tech. (CS/IT/ECE) / M.Sc./M.Sc. (integrated) (CS/IT/Electronics) M.Tech./M.E. (CS/IT/ECE) degree
- Have secured a minimum of 60% marks at the preceding degree/course
- Have reasonably good proficiency in basic mathematics and computing
Benefits
The candidate will receive a consolidated monthly fellowship of INR 5,000 per month.
Documents
- A cover letter summarising the application (including research interests)
- A recent Curriculum Vitae (including name as per 10th/12th-grade marksheet, a photo affixed, academic qualification, postal address, contact mobile number, email id) with copies of all relevant testimonials
- Scanned original degree certificates, marksheets and proof of date of birth etc.
- A scanned copy of photo ID (proof for the name given in CV)
- Two recommendation letters from the institute where the candidate is currently studying (to be sent directly to PI)

- The application should be forwarded/endorsed by the head of the institute/department where the candidate is currently studying.
- The progress of the intern will be assessed after each month by the appropriate committee following the DST-SERB project guideline. If the progress is not satisfactory the internship is liable to be
terminated.
