About The Program

NITK Surathkal Electronics and Communication Engineering Department (ECED) Junior Research Fellowship 2022 is a research opportunity offered by the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal to B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech./M.E./M.S.(R) or equivalent degree holders. The selected candidate is required to work on a project entitled - "Programmable Photonic Microwave Signal Generation Using On-chip Spectral Shaper for Satellite Communication". The candidate will receive a consolidated monthly salary of INR 31,000 per month for two years plus HRA as per ISRO norms.

To be eligible, an applicant must - 

  • Below 28 years of age
  • Hold a B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech./M.E./MS(R) or equivalent in Electronics and Communication Engineering/Electronics Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Material Science & Engineering/Metallurgical and Materials Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Nanotechnology/Optical Communication/Photonics/Plasmonics/Optics/RF/Microwave Photonics, VLSI/Communication Engg., and related areas
  • have M.Sc. degree in Electronics
  • Be GATE qualified (Note - Old GATE score is also considered.)
  • Have secured at least 6.5/10 CGPA or 60 percent marks in aggregate from a recognized technical institute or university as a full-time program

 

Note - The candidates who have M.Sc. degree in Electronics are also eligible.

The candidate will receive a consolidated monthly salary of INR 31,000 per month for two years plus HRA as per ISRO norms.

  • The shortlisted candidates with the date of the written test/interview will be intimated by email only.
  • The candidate is entitled to register for Ph.D. at NITK, Surathkal.
  • The appointment will be on a purely temporary basis coterminous with the project.
  • The candidates who are already employed should produce relieving certificates from their employers if selected. 
  • Proof of B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech./M.E./MS(R)/equivalent certificate has to be provided during the time of the interview. These are the minimum eligibility criteria. The shortlisting criteria can vary according to the number of applications received.
