About The Program
NIT Silchar Junior Research Fellowship (Mechanical Engineering) 2022 is a research opportunity offered by the National Institute of Technology, Silchar to postgraduate degree holders. The fellowship is meant for the DST sponsored project entitled - "Establishment of Science, Technology and Innovation Hub in NIT Silchar, Cachar, Assam, for the Socio-economic Upliftment of SC/ST Population in Assam." The selected fellow will receive a salary of INR 31,000 per month.

To be eligible, an applicant must -
- Be 32 years of age (as on closing date of application)
- Hold an M.E./M. Tech. or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering from recognized University with GATE score
Desirable Qualification-
- Hold a master’s degree in any specialization of Mechanical Engineering with prior experience in either of the following areas:
- Energy storage
- Condition Monitoring
- Material Processing
- Solar Thermal system
Note - Candidates with a priori experience will be given preference.

The selected fellow will receive a salary of INR 31,000 per month.

- Selected candidates shall have to sign an agreement at the time of joining.
- No candidate will be recruited if suitable candidates are not found.
- The Institute has the discretion to restrict the number of candidates to be called for the interview on the basis of screening.
- SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN/PWD/EWS candidates will get relaxation as per Govt of India Rules.
