NIT Silchar Junior Research Fellowship in Mechanical Engineering 2022 is a research opportunity offered by the National Institute of Technology, Silchar to master's degree holders. The fellowship is meant for the DST-SERB (CRG) sponsored project entitled - "Harvesting Pico-scale Water Power Using Zero-head Modified Savonius Water Turbine". The selected fellow will receive a salary/emoluments of INR 31,000 per month.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must -

    • Be 30 years of age (as on closing date of application)
    • Hold an M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering and related branches of Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University
    • Have GATE qualification (mandatory)

     

    Desirable Qualification:

    • Be Master Degree in Thermal Engineering/Thermal and Fluid Science Engineering/Renewable Energy/Mechanical Engineering
    • Throughout First Class in academic career and Knowledge of zero-head water turbines is preferred.
    Benefits

    The selected fellow will receive a salary of INR 31,000 per month.

The selection will be based on the applicant's qualification & experience and their performance in the interview.

  • The selected candidates will have to sign an agreement at the time of joining.
  • No candidate will be recruited if suitable candidates are not found.
  • Call letters for shortlisted candidates will be sent through email.
  • The Institute has the discretion to restrict the number of candidates to be called for the interview on the basis of screening.
  • SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN/PWD/EWS candidates will get relaxation as per Govt of India Rules.
  • The details regarding the interview process, date, time and venue will be intimated to the shortlisted candidates over email.
