About The Program

Netaji Subhas-ICAR International Fellowships 2018-19 invites applications from Indian students to study abroad and overseas students to study in Indian universities who are M.A. in Agriculture or allied sciences to pursue their doctoral degree course. The objective is to provide financial support to both the categories of students to develop their research and training capabilities.

The following applicants can apply for this fellowship:

  • Applicants (Indian and Overseas) who are M.A. in Agriculture and allied sciences with 65% of overall grade point average.
  • Applicants (Indian and Overseas) who are less than 35 years of age at the time of the last date for submitting the application form.
  • Applicants who are in-service of ICAR AU system are eligible till 40 years of age. 

 

Benefits

The fellows will get the following benefits:

  • A to-and-fro economy-class airfare for Indian students from the nearest airport of their residence and the university.
  • An amount of USD 2000 p.m will be given along with a contingent expense of USD 1000 p.a.
  • For overseas students, an economy class airfare will be provided from the port of departure in India to the port of arrival to the destination university.
  • The overseas students coming to India for studies will get INR 40,000 p.m along with an annual contingency expense of INR 25,000 p.a.
Documents

The applicants will have to provide the following documents:

  • A character certificate duly signed by the head of the last institution.
  • A letter of acceptance duly signed by the institution for admission in the respective degree program.
  • The in-service applicants have to provide a deputation approval by their respective Director of ICAR Institutes or Vice Chancellor of the agricultural institute.

Step 1: One hard copy of the application has to be sent by post to the address mentioned on the website and the softcopy has to be submitted online via e-mail.

Step 4: Submit the form.

Selection Criteria
  • The applicants will be evaluated by an expert committee on the basis of the importance of their area of study and proposed research plan.
  • An interview will be taken either telephonic or face-to-face.

Terms and Conditions
  • This fellowship program is of three years for both Indian and overseas students.
  • The area of study and the proposed research work must be relevant to Indian/Global agriculture.
  • The fellowship will be terminated if the candidate doesn't register for the program within one year from the date of issue of the fellowship.
  • The selected candidates have to deposit a bank guarantee of USD 10,000 for the complete course duration of three years.
  • For overseas students, an amount of INR 2,00,000 will be recovered from their fellowship grant as a bank guarantee which will be later paid to the fellow at the time of the final release of fellowship. 
  • The selected fellows will have to submit a medical fitness test along with a medical insurance at their own cost.
