About The Program

National School of Drama Scholarship Bengaluru 2017 invites application for the applicants who have completed graduation or equivalent degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University whose age must be between 18 years to 30 years as on 1st June 2017 for a 1-year certificate course in acting. This program will offer 20 scholarships to the selected applicants Rs 4500 per month. The course will start from 25th July 2017.

  • Graduates or equivalent degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must age between 18 years to 30 years as on 1st June 2017.
  • Have sufficient knowledge of theater with participation in at least 4 productions.
  • Any Indian throughout the country are eligible to apply but preference will be given to the applicants from southern states of India (Karnataka, Seemandhra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and the Union territory of Puducherry, Lakshadweep).
How can you apply?

The application can be done by post or by hand with the following steps:
Step 1: Download the application form or can avail at National School of Drama, Bengaluru Centre, Kalagrama, Mallathalli (behind Bengaluru University), Bengaluru-56, from 10 am to 1 pm.
Step 2: Fill all the details.
Step 3: Attach all the certificates and testimonials.
Step 4: Also attach a demand draft of Rs 150 in favor of 'NSD Bengaluru Chapter'.
Step 5: Send it to the given address by post or by hand:

Selection procedure:

  • The shortlisted applicants will have to appear for the 2 to 4 days workshop at Bengaluru Centre, Kalagrama, Mallathalli (behind Bengaluru University), Bengaluru-56 for audition or performance and physical test at their own cost on 1st, 2nd & 3rd July 2017.
  • All the applicants have to produce original certificates and testimonials during the workshop.
  • An expert committee constituted by National School of Drama, New Delhi will assess the aptitude and talent of the applicants and the committee's decision will be final.

The medium of instruction:
English or any southern region language.
