About The Program

National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) Internship Programme 2024 is an opportunity offered by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, for students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil., and Ph.D. degree courses in various disciplines. The selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹8,000 upon completion of the internship.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian national
  • be pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil.
  • and Ph.D. degree courses in various disciplines including Preventive & Social Medicine, Public Health, Health Management, Statistics, Social Sciences, etc. from a recognised and reputed university

Note:- Preference will be given to applicants with outstanding academic achievements, especially research scholars. Additionally, candidates with project experience relevant to NACO's activities or aligned with NACP.

Benefits

The selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹8,000 upon completion of the internship along with a certificate of completion.

Office logistical support will be provided to on-site interns, taking into account their functional requirements such as seating arrangements, stationery, and access to photocopiers/printers. However, candidates will need to arrange laptops and internet connectivity for themselves.

Documents

Candidates are required to submit the following documents at the time of joining:-

  • Duly filled in the application form
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Introduction letter from the Head of the Institution on official stationery where the applicant studied/studying
  • No-objection certificate from the University/Institution, in case the internship is to be pursued concurrently with an ongoing course
  • Self-attested certificates and transcripts for all accomplishments mentioned in the application form for educational qualifications
  • Write up not exceeding 500 words on the topic "How the student’s academic pursuit as well as the National AIDS Control Programme will benefit from this Internship" (Note:- Applications without this write-up will not be accepted.)
  • Copy of at least three documentary proofs of identity, which should include a copy of the passport and Aadhaar card/Voter ID/PAN Card for Indian nationals, and passport, OCI card, and National Identity Card for OCI card holders

Important Dates

Applications for the internship can be submitted once during a financial year based on the availability of the position.

Selection Criteria

All applications will undergo scrutiny by the Ministry's Internship Committee, and notifications for the same will be sent to selected candidates.

The Committee reserves the right to conduct personal interactions/interviews, either face-to-face or through electronic media (phone, Skype, etc.), and to verify original documents. Their decision will be final, and no queries will be entertained after the selection process is completed.

Terms and Conditions
  • NACO may terminate the engagement of an intern at any point without giving any reason whatsoever, as deemed fit by NACO.
  • NACO's decision shall be final in this regard. An intern can choose to leave the program if they so desire, giving prior notice of one week to the Ministry. In such a case, they will not be entitled to any stipend or certificate.
  • Applications duly filled in and complete in all respects with the required documents should be sent at least one month before the commencement of the internship
