About the Program

National Academy of Sciences (NASI), Allahabad invites nominations for NASI-Young Scientist Platinum Jubilee Awards 2020. The award has been instituted by NASI to recognise promise, creativity and excellence in young scientists. The award shall be made in recognition of notable contributions made by a young scientist under the age of 35 years in any branch of Science and Technology. The selected candidate will receive a cash award worth INR 25,000 along with other benefits.

    To be eligible, the applicant must:

    • Be an Indian/Overseas citizen of India working in India
    • Be below the age of 35 years as on April 15, 2020
    • Have made notable contributions in the field of Science and Technology

    A maximum of 5 awards will be made each year. The award carries:

    • Cash award of INR 25,000
    • Citation
    • Bronze medal
    • 20 copies of the nomination form along with only one soft copy (in CD)
    • 20 copies of reprints of five most important publications and all supporting documents
    How can you apply?

    Follow the below steps to apply for the awards:

    Step 1: Visit the web page here and get the nomination form filled by a fellow of either NASI, Scientific Society of national standing, University faculty, Post-Graduate department or research institutions.
    Step 2: Send 20 copies of nomination along with all the relevant documents to the academy at the address below:

Selection Criteria

Selection of the awardees will be made as per the regulations of NASI.

Terms and Conditions
  • The award recipients will be selected by NASI on the basis of work done in India.
  • The presentation of awards will be made by the President, NASI at the time of Annual General Body Meeting to be held in December 2020.
  • A candidate may only be nominated once. However, a nomination will remain valid for consideration for 3 years or the age eligibility whichever expires earlier.
