About The Program
Nagaland State Merit Scholarship 2023-24 is an initiative of the Department of Higher Education, Nagaland for Class 11 and postgraduate level students. The scheme aims to improve the level of literacy and education of the students by providing financial assistance. The selected candidates will receive financial assistance to continue their studies.

To be eligible, an applicant must:
- be a domicile of Nagaland or permanently settled in Nagaland
- be pursuing study at post matric level in a recognised institution
- fulfil the below academic requirements:

| Class 11/Diploma (1st year) | Minimum 80% in Class 10 | Marks of best five subjects in Class 10 |
| Bachelor’s degree 1st year | Minimum 80% in Class 12 | Marks of best five subjects in Class 12 |
| Engineering degree 2nd year (Lateral entry) | Minimum 80% in Diploma | Marks of all papers in all semesters of diploma |
| PG 1st year | Minimum 70% at Graduation level | Marks of all papers in all semesters of the Bachelor/Graduation course will be taken into account |
Benefits
The selected candidates will receive financial assistance to continue their higher studies.
Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
- Attested xerox copies of Marksheet and admit cards of Examination from Class 10 onwards
- Attested xerox copy of Schedule Tribe (ST) and Indigenous certificate
- Attested xerox copy of admission receipt
- Attested xerox copy school/college/university Registration/Affiliation certificate
- Xerox copy of the front page of bank passbook
- Xerox copy of Aadhaar card
How can you apply?
Eligible candidates can apply for the opportunity by following the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.

Step 3: Navigate to the 'Register' button on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
Step 4: Fill in the required details to complete the registration process. (Note: If the applicant is already registered, kindly log in using valid credentials)
Step 5: After successful registration, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents (if required) and submit.
Step 6: Take a printout of the application form and submit it along with the xerox copy of the documents to the Department of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland at the address:
