About The Program

MPOWER Financing invites applications for MPOWER Nursing Scholarship Program 2019 from students who wish to pursue a bachelor's, master's or doctorate level nursing program at a university supported by MPOWER in the US or Canada. The students who have the greatest potential to bring about effective positive social change through nursing can apply for this scholarship program. They have to majorly focus on improving the quality of nursing services to vulnerable and underserved populations.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, an applicant must -

  • Be 18 years old or older
  • Be accepted or enrolled in a full-time bachelor's, master's or doctorate level nursing program at any of the universities supported by MPOWER in the US or Canada
  • Have one of the following immigration statuses: 
    • For study at a U.S. partner college or university: F1 visa status, Green Card holder (permanent resident) status, or DACA recipient status
    • For study at a Canadian partner college or university: Permanent resident or Canadian study permit holder
Benefits

Total three scholarships will be awarded to students offering USD 5,000, USD 3,000, and USD 2,000 respectively to selected scholars.

Selection Criteria

The winners of this scholarship are selected on the basis of the following criteria -

  • The quality of the essay written by the applicants. It is important that the essay demonstrates clarity of thoughts, superior writing skills in English, and compelling vision and goals. 
  • The academic and professional record of the applicant. 
  • The demonstration of potential by the applicant to bring about positive social change through nursing.
Terms and Conditions
  • This scholarship is not open for employees of MPOWER Financing (including their immediate family members), its affiliates, subsidiaries and any other agent, vendor or supplier. 
  • The list of nursing schools supported by MPOWER can be found here.
  • The selected scholars will be notified about the scholarship. MPOWER will then confirm the eligibility of winners after which the scholarship fund will be disbursed to their respective college/university. 
  • The expected date of scholarship disbursement is 30 June 2019.
