The following applicants are eligible for the scholarship:
- Citizens of a developing country other than the People’s Republic of China who are in good health
- A Bachelor’s degree holder when applying for a Master’s program
- A Master’s degree holder when applying for a Doctoral program
- Applicants under 45 years of age
- Applicants having sufficient English or Chinese proficiency which meets the academic requirements of the program
Note: English: IELTS 6.0 or above, Chinese: HSK level 4 (score180) or above, or other evidence which indicates that the applicant's English or Chinese proficiency is adequate.
Benefits
The selected scholars will receive the following benefits:
- Full tuition waiver
- Teaching material fee waiver
- Research and survey fee waiver
- Dissertation guidance fee waiver
- One-off resettlement fee will be included and disbursed in the following way:
- CNY 3000 per master student
- CNY 3000 per PhD student
- An on-campus accommodation
- A stipend disbursed in the following way:
- CNY 3000 per month per Master's student
- CNY 3500 per month per PhD student
- Medical insurance
- One-time round-trip international airfare for all the students
Note: First time flight to China after the enrollment and the flight back to home country while graduation will be included, and a maximum of “n-1” (“n” is for the length of schooling year which is set while the student was enrolled by the program) round-trip international airfares for home visits (one time per year set at the end of an academic year).
Documents
The following documents are required to be attached along with the application:
- Photocopy of highest diploma
- Photocopy of academic transcripts
- A study plan or research proposal with a minimum of 400 words
- Photocopy of foreigner physical examination form
- Photocopy of English or Chinese proficiency
- Photocopy of a valid passport
How can you apply?
Follow the steps to apply:
Step 1: Go through the list of universities under CSC and affiliated with CGS and choose a university and course.
Step 2: Register online through CSC online login portal.
Step 3: Log in the portal with the respective credentials.
Step 4: Fill in the correct Program Category and Agency Number.
Step 5: Attach the necessary documents.
Step 6: Submit and download the application form and print 2 hard copies for future reference.
Terms and Conditions
- All the documents to be submitted should be in Chinese or English. Otherwise, a notarized copy in Chinese or English is required.
- An original copy of degrees, transcripts, Foreigner Physical Examination Form and language certificates must be presented for on-site verification.
- Each applicant can choose one same major in three universities out of the 26 designated universities as their desired option. CSC will place each applicant in one university only based on their desired option and universities’ requirements.
- Submit a written request to the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy for an official recommendation letter and clearly state:
- Whether the applicant is willing to be considered for a similar program at other universities if the applied programs could not accept the application
- Other special requests, if any
