About The Program

Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC Minority Students 2018-19, Delhi, a state-funded scheme invites applications from SC/ST/OBC/Minority students to pursue their higher studies in Colleges/Professional/Technical Institutions. The scholarships include maintenance allowances and other benefits.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, the candidate must:

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course
  • Belong to SC/ST/OBC/Minority category
  • Be studying in recognized Colleges/Professional/Technical Institutions
  • Not have less than 60% marks in the previous academic year
  • Have a family income less than INR 2 Lakh per annum
  • Be a domicile of Delhi
Benefits

The students will be paid maintenance allowance during their course. The maintenance allowances for the different course study is as follows (for 12 months):

  • Group A: Graduate: hosteller: INR 1620 per month, day scholar: INR 900 per month; Postgraduate: hosteller: INR 1860 per month, day scholar: INR 960 per month
  • Group B: hosteller: INR 1110 per month, day scholar: INR 720 per month
  • Group C: hosteller: INR 930 per month, day scholar: INR 630 per month 
  • Group D: General studies: hosteller: INR 804 per month, day scholar: INR 420 per month; Postgraduates: hosteller: INR 930 per month, day scholar: INR 630 per month
Documents

Following documents must be uploaded on the online application portal:

  • Residence Proof
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Cast Certificate (For Minority Self declaration)
  • Income Certificate (If applicable)
  • Bank Details of students (Aadhaar seeded)
  • Previous Class Mark Sheet
  • Fee Structure (If applicable)
  • Fee Receipt (If applicable)
  • Verification Letter (for outside Delhi application)
  • Passport size photograph 
  • Copy of Bank passbook
How can you apply?

Follow the below steps to apply-

Step 1: The applications can be submitted online through the E-district portal.
Step 2: Login using existing credentials or register as a new user.
Step 3: Provide all the relevant details and follow the instructions.
Step 4: Select the scholarship scheme and upload the required documents.
Step 5: Submit the application.

Groups

  • Group A- Degree and postgraduate level courses in Medicine, Commercial Pilot License and CA/ICWA/CS etc
  • Group B- Professional courses leading to a degree or diploma in areas like PharmacyM.A, M.Sc/M.Com etc
  • Group C- B.A./B.Sc/B.Com etc
  • Group D- Non-degree courses, ITI, a 3-year diploma course in Polytechnic etc

Terms and conditions

  • The rate of the scholarship will be reduced to 50%, if a student fails in the annual examination, but continues studies, except in cases where the student fails to appear in the annual examination on medical grounds.
  • Students need to produce an income certificate in the name of parents issued by competent authorities of GNCT of Delhi, valid at the time of submission of application.
  • Minority students should be the residents of Delhi for the past three years and should upload proof thereof like the EPIC card, Aadhaar Number, Ration Card etc. on the online application portal.
