About The Program
Mathematical Research Impact Centric Support 2023 is an opportunity offered by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to Ph.D. or M.D./ M.S./ M.D.S./ M.V.Sc degree holders. The main aim of this scheme is to provide fixed grant support to active researchers with good credentials in Mathematical Sciences, Theoretical Sciences and Quantitative Social Sciences. The selected candidates will receive an annual research grant of INR 2,00,000 for a period of three years.

To be eligible, an applicant must -
- hold a Ph.D. or M.D./ M.S./ M.D.S./ M.V.Sc degree
- be working on a regular basis in academic institutions/national labs or any other recognized R&D institutions
- be an active researcher in one of the following fields -
- Mathematical Sciences and allied areas
- Science and Engineering (excluding mathematical sciences)
- Social Sciences involving quantitative analysis using mathematical, statistical and computational techniques
- have completed the degree at least five years prior to the submission of the proposal in order to have gained individual experience
- have at least four years of service remaining before superannuation as on the date of submission of the proposal

Selection Criteria
Terms and Conditions
- An applicant is eligible to submit only one proposal during a call.
- PIs who have received grants under MATRICS/CREST cannot apply under SERB International Travel Support Scheme during the project duration.
- PIs who have availed MATRICS grant can re-apply under the MATRICS Scheme only after the completion of a two-year cooling period starting from the end date of the previous MATRICS grant.
- Co-PIs are not allowed in the scheme.
- There is no provision for the extension of the project duration.
