About The Program

The School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures (LLC) at the University of Edinburgh invites applications for LLC Masters Scholarships 2019-20 from exceptionally bright students who wish to start a Master's degree in the academic year 2019-20. This year, a total of four Arthur Kitchin Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding students. The key objective of the scholarship is to attract the brightest and the best candidates to pursue higher studies at Edinburgh.

An applicant must - 
  • Have applied for a Master's degree programme of study (on-campus) within LLC
  • Have made the application before 10 April 2019
  • Have submitted his/her references before 24 April 2019 
Benefits
A total of 4 scholars will be awarded the LLC Masters Scholarships. The scholarship covers the tuition fees for up to GBP 10,700 for a year. However, for the overseas applicants, the difference between the Home/EU fees rates and Overseas fees rates will be given. 
How can you apply?
Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship only after they have submitted their admission application to the University of Edinburgh. Apply for the scholarship through following steps -
Step 1: Visit the MyED portal of the university. 
Step 2: Click on 'New users register with EASE'. 
Step 3: After successful registration, log in to the portal to access the scholarship application form.
Step 4: Fill in all the required details.
Step 5: Upload the supporting documents. 
Step 6: Submit the application form.

  • Apply to a Masters programme- By 10th April 2019
  • Submit references- By 24th April 2019
  • Scholarship deadline- 1st May 2019
  • Applicants notified of the outcome- By 8th June 2019
Selection Criteria
The selection of the scholars is made on the basis of their academic merit and their potential to excel in the chosen programme of study. 
Terms and Conditions
  • PhD students are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • A total of 4 scholarships will be awarded this year.
  • To gain access to the scholarship application system, the applicants first need to apply for admission to the University of Edinburgh.
  • It can take up to 5 working days for all system checks to be completed and access to be granted after the submission of the application.
