Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program 2022 is an initiative by the University of Toronto, Canada for class 12 passed international students enrolling in an undergraduate program. The scholarship program is intended to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and creativity and who are recognized as leaders within their school. The selected candidates will receive tuition, books, incidental fees, and full residence support for four years.

    To be eligible, an applicant must:

    • Be an international student (a non-Canadian requiring a study permit)
    • Be currently in your final year of secondary school or have graduated no earlier than June 2022
    • Be beginning your studies at the University of Toronto in September 2023 


    *Note - The students already attending post-secondary studies cannot be considered; students starting their studies in January 2023 at another post-secondary institution cannot be considered.


    Approximately 37 students will be selected for this scholarship each year. They will receive tuition, books, incidental fees, and full residence support for four years.

    How can you apply?

    Follow the steps below to apply for the scholarship:

    Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
    Step 2: The verified schools will be contacted for the nominations.
    Step 3: The university will send a personalized scholarship application link to students who have been nominated by the school and have applied for an undergraduate program. 
    Step 4: Complete the online Lester B. Pearson Scholarship application as per the guidelines provided and submit it. 

Important Dates

School nomination deadline: 30th November 2022
Student OUAC application deadline: 14th December 2022 (Please note this is the final date to submit an application to the OUAC; however, it is recommended you apply for admission through the OUAC before 07th November 2022 as spaces in programs fill up quickly and popular programs may close early.)
Student scholarship application deadline: 16th January 2023

The selection of the candidates will be based on the following factors -

  • Academic achievements
  • Creativity
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Potential to contribute to the global community 


Terms and Conditions
  • International students under this scholarship program stand for non-Canadians requiring a study permit in Canada.
  • The applicants will only be considered for the scholarship for their first choice of program. 
  • The schools can nominate one student per year.
