The Government of Uttar Pradesh invites applications for the photography contest for Kumbh Mela 2019. The Kumbh Mela is one of the biggest religious festivals in the country. Kumbh 2019 is here, and they are looking for photos that showcase the best of what it represents. From early morning scenes to the myriad scenes of daily life, there's a delightful plethora to photograph. The winner of the contest has the opportunity to win up to INR 5 Lakhs.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility This contest is open to everyone who is above 18 years of age.
Note: Participants below 18 years of age need the consent of their parent/guardian to participate in the competition.
Benefits The selected winner will receive the following benefits:
- A grand prize of INR 5 Lakhs to the best 3 entries in each of the 4 categories (Daily life at Kumbh 2019, Making of Kumbh, Mesmerising Kumbh/Divya Kumbh Bhavya Kumbh and Another Open Category)
- First Prize of INR 1 Lakh
- Second Prize of INR 75,000
- Third Prize of INR 50,000
- Winning and other consolation entries will be featured on the website with name mention
- Winning entries received will be put as an exhibition for a week in Kumbh for visitors and media to see
How can you apply? Follow the steps to apply:
Step 1: Click here to visit the contest page.
Step 2: Provide communication details including email and contact number.
Step 3: Upload the photographs taken during Kumbh 2019.
Step 4: The images along with their description should be uploaded based on relevant categories.
Step 5: Click on 'Submit'.Note: The file size of the uploaded images should be 5-8 MB.
Important Dates
- Applications open: 30th January 2019
- Application deadline: 10th February 2019
- Winners announcement: 15th February 2019
- Exhibition: In the third week of February
Terms and Conditions
- The competition has 4 categories:
- Daily life at Kumbh 2019- images presenting the essence of Kumbh
- Making of Kumbh- images captured before and after the Kumbh
- Mesmerizing Kumbh/Divya Kumbh Bhavya Kumbh- images presenting grandeur of Kumbh
- Open- any images not included in the above categories
- Only photographs taken during Kumbh Mela 2019 (Prayagraj) will be accepted.
- The participant can submit up to a maximum of 5 entries per categories mentioned above.
- The photographs should be submitted in jpg or jpeg file format.
- Both the colour and monochrome images will be accepted.
- The total data size of the image(s) should be within 5 to 8 MB.
- Picture size of the large side should be at least 1600 pixels.
- No surrealism, no cloning, no composite images are allowed in the competition.
- All entries should be accompanied by a brief line (max 500 characters) mentioning the subject name and place where the photo was taken.
- Source image must be made available on request by Prayagraj Mela Authority.
- Multiple entries by a person or group entries are not allowed.
