About The Program

KSCSTE Fellowship Programme 2018-19 invites applications from students who have an MSc/MTech degree in subjects like Life Sciences, Mathematical Science, Physical Science, Chemical Science, Atmospheric, Earth, Planetary and Ocean Science, Environmental Science and Engineering Science. The key objective of the fellowship is to provide research training to these students and to develop their careers as scientists.

An applicant must -
  • Hold an MSc/MTech degree in the academic year 2018 and two previous years from any of the Universities in Kerala 
  • Have obtained 70% and above marks in the qualifying examination (MSc/MTech)
  • Not be more than 35 years of age as on 1 January 2018
Benefits
The selected fellows will receive -
  • Monthly stipend of INR 22,000 per month for first two years and INR 25,000 per month for third year.
  • An annual contingency grant of INR 20,000 
  • 10% of the fellowship amount as HRA

How can you apply?
Eligible candidates can apply for the fellowship online through following steps -
Step 1: Click here to start the application.
Step 2: Read all the instructions carefully. 
Step 3: New users can click on "New Users Click Here to Register Online".
Step 4: Fill in all required details and upload a passport size photograph of the applicant and register.
Step 5: The applicants will receive a verification mail on their registered email id along with login details. 
Step 6: Login to continue the application process. 
Step 7: Once logged in, click on "Enter your details". 
Step 8: Complete the application form and upload all supporting documents. 
Step 9: Finally, submit the application.
Note: Once the online application is submitted, the applicants are required to submit a non-refundable application fee on INR 500 (for general and OBC candidates) through Demand Draft drawn in favour of "The Member Secretary, KSCSTE" payable at SBI Patton, Thiruvananthapuram. The applicants are required to send the PDF of the application form duly signed along with the orignal DD to the address given below superscribing the envelope - "Application for KSCSTE Research Fellowship 2018" on or before 7 November 2018 -

Selection Criteria
The fellows will be selected on the basis of their performance in -
  • Online test
  • Interview
Terms and Conditions
  • The duration of the fellowship is 3 years.
  • The examination will be conducted at venues in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode. 
  • The actual details of the examination centre will be made available to applicants on their admit cards that can be downloaded online. 
  • The fellows receiving the fellowship shall register for the PhD programme in any of the recognised universities/research centres in Kerala. 
  • The fellowship amount will be released as a lump sum in advance each year through the institution where the fellow is doing research. 
  • The head of the institution shall be responsible for ensuring that the fund is being utilized only for the purpose for which it is sanctioned.
