About The Program

Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London invites applications for Kings College London IoPPN Postgraduate Taught Scholarships 2020-21 from students who have applied for a full-time Postgraduate Taught (PGCert, PGDip or MSc) course at the IoPPN, starting in September 2020. The scholarship aims to support students with the financial commitments of postgraduate study. The selected scholars will receive up to GBP 5,000.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, the applicants must:

  • Be full-time Home/EU and international fee status students
  • Be pursuing a Postgraduate Taught (PGCert, PGDip or MSc) course at the IoPPN, starting in September 2020
  • Have applied to one of the full-time Postgraduate Taught Programmes at the IoPPN
  • Fulfil the relevant academic and English proficiency entry requirements for the Postgraduate Taught Programme, set by King’s College London
  • Be able to confirm that they have/are seeking the means to support any outstanding fees/costs not covered by this scheme i.e. through other funding awards or self-funding
  • Not already hold a Master’s or equivalent postgraduate qualification

Note: Students who have undertaken prior postgraduate studies such as PG Diplomas or PG Certificates or clinical/medical qualifications are eligible.

Benefits

The scholarships are paid towards the fees via an internal transfer within the university at a value of GBP 1,000 and GBP 5,000 each.

Selection Criteria

Candidates will be assessed on the strength of their application to the chosen Postgraduate Taught programme and their IoPPN Scholarship Application Form including:

  • Academic qualifications and merit
  • Relevant clinical and/or work experience
  • Personal statement

  • Deposits are not required until a decision has been made on the scholarships. Unsuccessful scholarship candidates will need to pay their programme deposit within two weeks of the outcome.
  • The scholarship application will be considered together with the programme application, but applicants do not need to have received an offer to apply for a scholarship.
  • The scholarships are paid towards the fees via an internal transfer within the university. The scholarship holder will still need to meet the difference in fees personally or from another award.
