About The Program

Kerala State Higher Education Council Scholarship 2023 is an opportunity offered by the Kerala State Higher Education Council to students enrolled in UG and PG courses. The selected candidates will receive up to INR 60,000 for the course duration.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, an applicant must - 

  • be an Indian national residing in Kerala
  • have completed Class 12 or an equivalent examination
  • be enrolled in a first-year undergraduate aided course in Science/Social Science/Humanities/Business Studies at a government-aided Arts and Science college OR
  • be pursuing identical courses at the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD) applied for science colleges
  • have at least 55% marks in Class 12 in Science, Humanities, and Social Science streams, and 60% in Business Studies stream (For SC Category students)
  • have secured at least a minimum of 45% marks in Class 12 for all streams (For Physically Challenged)
  • have earned at least 60% marks in Class 12 in Science, 55% in Humanities, and Social Sciences and 65% in Business Studies streams [For Below Poverty Line (BPL)/Other Backward Classes (OBC)]
  • have scored at least 75% in Class 12 in Science and Business Studies, and 60% in Humanities and Social Sciences streams (For other unreserved categories)
Benefits

The selected candidates will receive the benefits in the following way - 

  • Candidates pursuing undergraduate courses will receive INR 12,000, INR 18,000, and INR 24,000, respectively, for the programmes’ first, second, and third years.
  • Students with a physical disability that is at least 40% will get an extra 25% of the scholarship amount.
  • Undergraduate scholarship recipients who go on to pursue postgraduate studies will receive INR 40,000 for the first year and INR 60,000 for the second year of the postgraduate course.

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship by following the below-mentioned steps - 
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note - If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email Id.)
Step 3: Click on the link that reads 'New Registration' under the 'Apply Scholarship' section in the middle right corner of the page.
Step 4: Tick the terms and conditions and click on the 'Apply' button.
Step 5: Fill in all the required details, upload all the necessary documents and submit.

Selection Criteria

The applicants will be selected based on the fulfilment of eligibility criteria.

  • The candidates who receive any other scholarship/stipend other than a fee concession are ineligible for this scholarship.
  • The renewal of scholarships after every year will be based on the scholar’s academic performance.
  • Of the total scholarship10% is reserved for SC/ST candidates,10% for BPL candidates, 27% for OBC applicants and 3% for physically challenged persons.
