Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, an autonomous body operating under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, invites applications from students of Class 5 for admission in Class 6 through Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test 2018. The key objective of the scheme is to provide quality modern education to the talented children, predominantly from rural areas.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible for the test, a candidate must -
- Be studying in Class 5 in academic session 2017-18 at a Government/Government recognised school in the district where Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) is functioning.
- Have passed Classes 3 and 4 from Government/Government recognised school.
- Be born between 01 May 2005 and 30 April 2009 (both days inclusive).
- Study for a full academic session in Class 5 from the same district where admission is sought.
How can you apply? The eligible candidates can apply online for the test with following steps -
Step 1: Visit the official website.
Step 2: Register for the test.
Step 3: Fill in the application form.
Step 4: Submit the duly filled application form.
Terms and Conditions
Reservation
- At least 75% of seats are reserved for children from schools in rural areas.
- One-third of the seats are reserved for girls.
- 3% of the seats are reserved for differently abled children.
- Seats are also reserved for SC and ST candidates as per the norms of the Government of India.

- For Summer Bound Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas - 10 February 2018
- For Winter Bound Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas - 8 April 2018
- For Extreme Winter Bound Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas - 9 June 2018
