About The Program

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, an autonomous body operating under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, invites applications from students of Class 5 for admission in Class 6 through Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test 2018. The key objective of the scheme is to provide quality modern education to the talented children, predominantly from rural areas. 

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible for the test, a candidate must -

  • Be studying in Class 5 in academic session 2017-18 at a Government/Government recognised school in the district where Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) is functioning.
  • Have passed Classes 3 and 4 from Government/Government recognised school.
  • Be born between 01 May 2005 and 30 April 2009 (both days inclusive).
  • Study for a full academic session in Class 5 from the same district where admission is sought. 
How can you apply?

The eligible candidates can apply online for the test with following steps -
Step 1: Visit the official website. 
Step 2: Register for the test. 
Step 3: Fill in the application form. 
Step 4: Submit the duly filled application form.

Terms and Conditions

Reservation

  • At least 75% of seats are reserved for children from schools in rural areas. 
  • One-third of the seats are reserved for girls. 
  • 3% of the seats are reserved for differently abled children. 
  • Seats are also reserved for SC and ST candidates as per the norms of the Government of India. 

Dates of Selection Test

  • For Summer Bound Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas - 10 February 2018
  • For Winter Bound Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas - 8 April 2018
  • For Extreme Winter Bound Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas - 9 June 2018
