About The Program

Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has introduced online applications under Israel Government Scholarship 2018-19. 5 scholarships are for a duration of 8 months, to undertake research/specialization from universities which are approved by the Israeli Council for Higher Education and 2 short-term scholarships for the students seeking to study Hebrew. 

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
  • There is no upper age limit for applying for the scholarship
  • For research/specialization, the student must be a post-graduates with 60% or above before 30th November 2017
  • For Hebrew Language and Literature course, the student must be pursuing post-graduate.
  • Candidates must have proof of proficiency in English or Hebrew Language.
  • Candidates who have already been abroad for studies/training/specialization for a period exceeding 6 months are eligible to apply if they have been in India for at least 2 consecutive years after returning from abroad as on 30/11/2017
How can you apply?

The application can be done online with following steps:

Step 1: Students have to visit the website.

Step 2: For new registration click here.

Step 3: Fill all the necessary details.

Step 4: Attach all the required documents

Step 5: If a student is already a registered member, type registration number, and password.

Step 7: Follow step 3 and 4

Step 8: Submit the application form

Terms and Conditions

Following are some documents which should be scanned and uploaded at the time of applying:

  • Colour passport size photograph (.jpg or .jpeg format)
  • Signature (.jpg or .jpeg format)
  • Age proof.
  • Educational Qualification
  • University/College Transcript
  • Admission/Offer letter 
  • Any Academic Awards etc (The size must not exceed 530 kb for each of the document, photograph, and signature)

  • Comparative Study of Religions (with specific reference to Judaism)
  • Middle East Studies
  • Hebrew language and literature
  • History of the Jewish people
  • Agriculture
  • Biology
  • Biotechnology
  • Economics
  • Business Management
  • Mass Communication
  • Environment Studies
  • Chemistry

Value of Scholarship:

  • Terms and conditions of the scholarship are in accordance to the yearly budget of Israel Government for this purpose.
  • The scholarship could be partial or full.

Partial scholarship includes
i) Part of the tuition fees
ii) Basic health insurance
iii) Monthly allowance for one academic year (8 months only).

Full scholarship includes
i) Tuition fee
ii) Basic health insurance
iii) Monthly allowance for one academic year (8 months only)

  • Accommodation, transportation and travel arrangements, to and fro or in Israel, will be

borne by the student.
