To be eligible, an applicant must -
- Be a citizen of any IsDB member country or belong to the Muslim community in non-member countries
- Be a graduate degree holder with grades above 'Good'
- Have the proposed field of study within the fields approved by the programme
- Be recommended by three referees (academic or professional)
- Not seek or accept any other scholarship during the term of his/her scholarship
- Be medically fit
Benefits
The following benefits will be received by the selected scholars:
- Full tuition fee waiver (paid directly to the university)
- A monthly living allowance which will include the living expenses, medical expenses at university or public hospitals
- Thesis preparation allowance
- Round-trip air ticket and installation allowance
- Extracurricular activities under a special programme called the “Mentorship Programme” to ensure the scholar's academic progress and social and psychological integration in the university as well as the local community environment
Note: The scholarship is paid to students as an interest-free loan. The students need to repay 50% of the loan amount in easy instalments after their graduation to ensure the continuity of the programme in the long run.

How can you apply?
Follow the steps to apply:
Step 1: Register at the online portal of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).
Step 2: Log in the portal.
Step 3: Fill the application form with the relevant details.
Step 4: Attach the required documents.
Step 5: Submit the application.
Selection Criteria
- The Selection Committee is responsible for shortlisting the applicants. It constitutes of academicians in all development related fields and headed by the Senior Advisor to the IsDB President, for Science and Technology and Innovation (STI).
- The Committee screens and ranks the applicants, based on its personal selection criteria, considering the eligibility criteria and selection requirements of the Programme.
- The final approval is provided by the IsDB President after which the scholarship division informs the results to all the successful candidates.

- The selected students must obtain an admission only from one of the universities listed among the top universities in each country.
- The applicants must commit to cover, after the completion of his study, the cost of the first year of his/her Master’s degree. In this case, the IsDB will support him/her by covering the cost of his/her 2nd year Master's degree or related cost of the first year’s study for a new undergraduate student from the same community he/she belongs to.
- The applicant should seek or accept no other scholarship or remunerated work during his/her studies under the programme which may interfere with his/her studies or make fulfilment of his/her other obligations difficult unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the IsDB.
- The program does not cover the following expenses:
- Student’s family
- Extracurricular courses of training
- Language courses
- Any additional travel during the study programme.
