To be eligible, an applicant must-
- be within 18-24 years of age
- hold a 3 years Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Refinery & Petro-Chemical Engg in the Chemical discipline from a recognized institution
have 3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in the Engineering discipline from a recognized institution
- have passed exams with a minimum of 50% marks (Note - 45% for SC/ST and PwBD category candidates for the seats reserved for them.)
- be under the category of “Fresher apprentice”
- not have undergone apprenticeship training earlier
- not job experience for a period of one year or more after the attainment of the qualification
Note - The upper age limit for SC/ST candidates is up to 5 years and for PwD candidates the upper age limit is 3 years.
Benefits
The selected candidates will receive the apprenticeship award as per the apprentices' act and the corporation’s guidelines. The candidates will also be provided with one pair of safety shoes & a Helmet (returnable upon completion of training), wherever applicable.
The apprentices will be covered under suitable accident insurance coverage.

Selection Criteria
The candidates will be selected based on their performance and marks obtained by them in the written test and fulfilment of eligibility criteria.
The written test will be conducted in the following prescribed format and criteria :
- Written Tests will be conducted with Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) consisting of four options with one correct option.
- Candidates will have to secure a minimum of 40% marks in written test for qualifying for the selection process.
- After securing the required marks in the written test, candidates will be called for a document verification round.
- Candidates will go through the pre-engagement medical test and after that whoever will be declared fit in the examination will be considered for engagement as apprentices.

- Applications submitted through online mode will only be accepted.
- If the candidate has furnished false or incorrect information, the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled.
- The applications are invited by IndianOil for Apprenticeship at its Refineries at Guwahati, Digboi, and Bongaigaon (all 3 in
Assam), Barauni (Bihar), Vadodara (Gujarat), Haldia (West Bengal), Mathura (UP), Panipat {Panipat Refinery &
Petrochemical Complex (PRPC)} (Haryana) and Paradip (Odisha).
- The period of apprenticeship training is for one year.
- The period of apprenticeship training may be extended under certain circumstances.
- The apprenticeship agreement will be registered online with respective authorities.
- The SC/ST/PwBD candidates appearing for Written Test/Document Verification will be reimbursed a single second class railway fare from the nearest railway station.
- The candidates who fall under the “person with benchmark disability” category must be certified with not less than 40% of a specified disability.
- The candidate must have an active email ID and mobile phone number which must remain valid for at least the next year. All future communication with candidates will take place only through website/email/SMS alerts.
