About The Program
Nano Science and Technology Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) 2024 is an opportunity provided by the Institute of Nano Science and Technology to postgraduate students in chemistry and graduate/postgraduate students in professional courses to work on a research project funded by the Government of India's SERB Core Research Grant (CRG) Scheme titled - 'Insight Study into the Photo-redox Catalysis for Simultaneous CO2 Reduction and Biomass Oxidation: Boosting Sustainable Economy'. The project will be conducted at the Institute located in Mohali. Selected fellows will receive a competitive monthly stipend of ₹31,000 along with a House Rent Allowance (HRA).

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be under the age of 28 years as of 18th April 2024 (Note:-Age relaxation is available for certain reserved categories as per Government of India guidelines.)
- hold a graduate/postgraduate degree in a professional course or postgraduate degree in Chemistry selected process described through any one of the following:
- Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including
lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE - Examinations administered by central government departments and their institutions, such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IITs, IISc, IISERs, and NISER etc.
- Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including
Desirable Experience:
- demonstrate a research experience in the synthesis of nanomaterials and catalysis

The selected fellows will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹31,000 per month along with HRA as applicable.

- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated through email to appear in the interview and no other communication in this regard will be entertained.
- This is a purely temporary, contractual position, renewable annually for a maximum of three years or until project completion, whichever comes first.
- Candidates selected for this position are also eligible to apply for the regular Ph.D. program at the Institute (INST) subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
- Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/marksheets and other testimonials must be presented along with the self-attested photocopies of these documents at the time of the interview.
