About The Program
The Institut Courtois Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026 is offered by the Institut Courtois of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Université de Montréal. To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be enrolled, or plan to enroll, in a postdoctoral program at the Université de Montréal
- have obtained their doctoral degree within the three years before the start of funding (PhD obtained between March 2025 and the postdoctoral start date), or plan to obtain it before the start of funding
- propose an original research program aligned with the expertise of the members of the Institut Courtois
- be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship or permanent residence), or commit to taking the necessary steps to obtain a work permit; the Institut Courtois will support selected candidates through the visa application process, though final allocation of the fellowship is conditional on obtaining the required permit
Note:-
- Applicants who can justify career breaks or special circumstances (such as maternity leave or illness) may have obtained their doctorate less than four years before the start of the fellowship.
Benefits
The selected fellow will receive the following benefits:
- A salary of CAD 63,819 per year (approx. ₹43,18,064.38)
- Research funding of up to CAD 30,000 per year (approx. ₹20,29,833.30), if justified
- Funding duration of 3 years

- Curriculum vitae
- A letter of support from the Institut Courtois mentor (co-signed if applicable)
- Three letters of recommendation, sent directly by referees
