About The Program

INSPIRE Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) 2024 is an initiative of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India to provide financial help to meritorious students who wish to study basic and natural sciences at the college and university level and to pursue research careers in both basic and applied science areas including engineering, medicine, agriculture and veterinary sciences through various components. Selected candidates will receive a monthly emolument of ₹5,000 and an annual mentorship grant of ₹20,000.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • be between 17 and 22 years old
  • be pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Science (B.S.), or Integrated Master of Science (Int. M.Sc.)/Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in one of the following Natural and Basic Sciences subjects:
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Mathematics
    • Biology
    • Statistics
    • Geology
    • Astrophysics
    • Astronomy
    • Electronics
    • Botany
    • Biochemistry
    • Zoology
    • Anthropology
    • Microbiology
    • Geophysics
    • Geochemistry
    • Atmospheric Sciences
    • Oceanic Sciences
  • meet one of the following criteria:
    • score in the top 1% of your Class 12 examination
    • secure a rank within the top 10,000 in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) of IIT, All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)
    • be a scholar of the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), or an International Olympiad medalist

 

Note:- 

  • Students enrolled in programs outside the specified natural and basic sciences are ineligible.
  • Students pursuing studies through open universities or distance learning are not eligible.
  • Applicants who completed their Class 12 exam in the previous academic year are not considered.
Benefits

The scholarship amount under the SHE component is ₹5,000 per month, i.e. ₹ 60,000 per annum along with a mentorship grant of ₹20,000 per annum.

How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the opportunity by following the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID)
Step 3: Navigate to the 'New User? Register here' option on the right-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Fill in the required details and click on the submit button at the bottom of the page to 'Register'.
Step 5: After successful registration, the applicants will receive a confirmation mail on the registered email ID with the activation link. Click the activation link to proceed. 
Step 6: Log in to the portal using the registered email ID and password. 
Step 7: Click on the 'Scholarship' link.
Step 8: Click on 'Apply for Scholarship'.
Step 9: Fill in all required details and upload the scanned copy of all supporting documents in the prescribed format. 
Step 10: Finally, submit the application form.

The selection process for the INSPIRE Scholarship consists of two stages:

  • Initial Screening: Applications are reviewed based on the applicant's academic performance and other relevant criteria.
  • Interview: Shortlisted candidates are invited for an interview.

  • Applicants are advised to print a copy of their submitted online application for their records. Physical copies sent by mail will not be accepted.
  • Incomplete applications, incorrectly filled out, or missing essential documents will be summarily rejected.
  • Applicants must use a valid and functional email address for the online application. The application status will be communicated solely through the INSPIRE web portal. Applicants can check their status by logging in to their registered account.
  • Applicants may only submit one application. Please ensure all information is accurate before submitting.
  • The Endorsement Form template is available on the INSPIRE-SHE announcement page on the INSPIRE portal.
  • Any legal disputes arising from this program will be handled exclusively by the Delhi Courts/Tribunals/Forums.
