About The Program

INSPIRE Awards MANAK Scheme 2022-23 is an opportunity offered to students studying in class 6 to 10. The scheme is a flagship program implemented by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology (Government of India) with a basic objective to instil creative/innovative thinking among school students. The scheme motivates the students to take their innovative ideas forward for prototype and product development. The selected students will receive an award of INR 10,000 (one-time).

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

Under this scheme, schools can nominate 5 best original ideas/innovations of students. The nominated students must - 

  • Be in the age group of 10-15 years
  • Be studying in class 6 to 10

The selected students will receive an award of INR 10,000 (one-time).

How can you apply?

The schools can submit the nomination of a candidate by following the below-mentioned steps -

Step 1: Click on the "Apply Now" button and read the details carefully.
Step 2: Click on 'New Registration' to register. (Note - The schools who are already registered, kindly login using valid credentials.)
Step 3: After successful registration, select 'Student Nomination'.
Step 4: Fill in the student details, upload the photograph and submit it to generate the acknowledgement.

Note -

  • It is advisable to use the school email id which can be used even if the authority changes.
  • The application number generated can be used for future references. 
  • For detailed information, kindly go through the 'Application User Manual'.

Selection Criteria

The selection of ideas/innovations will be based on novelty, social applicability, environment friendliness, user-friendliness and comparative advantage over the existing similar technologies. 

The 1,000 best ideas/innovations will be showcased at the National Level Exhibition & Project Competition (NLEPC) and the top 60 innovations will be shortlisted for national awards and future direction.

The top 60 ideas/innovations will be considered by NIF for product/process development and linkage with other schemes of NIF/DST. Also, it will be displayed at the Annual Festival of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (FINE).
