Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research Fellowship 2017 is providing an opportunity to the applicants who want to do M.Sc. which is a  2-year programme, involves a successful completion of either 16 courses or 15 courses and a Master’s thesis. The M.Phil. programme is a 2-year programme, designed for the applicants who would like to acquire a certain level of analytical and applied skills but may not be keen on pursuing a PhD degree and the PhD programme is designed to create academic researchers as well as professionals who are capable of conducting policy analysis, relating to national and global economic and development issues, from a quantitative and inter-disciplinary perspective. PhD applicants are expected to submit their dissertations within 4-years of joining the Institute. The selected applicants will get monthly stipend and are required to provide part time research or teaching assistantship from their second year onwards.

    Eligibility
    • Applicants should have minimum qualification for admission to M.Sc. programme: B.A./B.Sc. in Economics/B.Com./B.Stat./B.Sc. (Physics or Mathematics).
    • Applicants should have minimum qualification for admission to the M.Phil. and PhD programme: M.A./M.Sc. in Economics/M.Stat./M.Sc. (Physics or Mathematics or Environmental Science or Operations Research)/M.B.A./M.Tech./M.E./B.Tech./B.E. with at least 55% marks for Economics discipline and 60% marks for other disciplines.
    • Applicants must have studied mathematics at the higher secondary or higher level.
    How can you apply?

    The application can be done online with the following steps:
    Step 1:
    Go to the website and click on apply online.
    Step 2: To register application, click for New Registration and fill the details. A provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Note down that.
    Step 3: Validate your details and Save your application.
    Step 4: Now upload photo & signature.
    Step 5: Proceed to fill other details and click on the preview tab to preview and verify the entire application form before the final submit.
    Step 6: Click on payment tab and proceed for payment.
    Step 7: Submit.

  • The online test will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview at IGIDR around last week of May or first week of June 2017 (second class return rail fare by the shortest route from the place of residence will be paid to the applicants interviewed).
