Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) Post-Doctoral Researcher Fellowship 2024 is an opportunity offered by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Banglore, to students who have submitted a Ph.D. thesis in Physical/Mathematical Sciences. The selected candidates will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹35,000 and other benefits for one year.

Deadline30-Sep-2024 Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:
- be below 36 years of age
- have submitted a Ph.D. thesis in Physical/Mathematical Sciences to a recognised university/institute
- have submitted the thesis in areas that have significant overlap with research carried out in IIA
Benefits The selected candidate will receive a monthly fellowship of up to ₹ 35,000 for one year, house rent and medical facilities.

How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the fellowship using the steps listed below:-
Steps to Pre-register:
Step 1: Click the ‘Apply Now’ button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note:- If already registered, log in using the registered email ID.)
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Create an Account' option at the top of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Fill in the details and submit to 'Pre-register'.
Step 5: After successful pre-registration, the application will be reviewed.
Step 6: After the review, the applicants will be asked to submit the application for fellowship.To apply for the fellowship, the applicants are required to follow the following steps:-
Step 1: Navigate to the 'Login' option at the top of the dashboard.
Step 2: Login using the valid credentials.
Step 3: Fill in the required details and submit the application form.
Important Dates
The applications will be accepted four times a year, with deadlines for applications fixed on January 31, May 31, and September 30.
Selection Criteria
The Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) committee will review the applications and the selection will be made based on their performance in the interview and fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.
Terms and Conditions
- Selected candidates, as post-doctoral fellows, are expected to work in close collaboration with members of the research groups at the institute and are also encouraged to carry out independent research.
- The duration of the fellowship is a maximum of one year.
- The research experience of the candidate should have a significant overlap with the current research activities at IIA.
- The PDF committee will process the application and update the applicants about it.
