The India Fellow invites applications for the India Fellow Social Leadership Program 2022 from graduates between 20 and 30 years of age. It is an 18-month leadership program for young professionals from various walks of life, willing to work with communities and find their leadership potential to make a difference. It is an experiential social leadership program for the youth of India which includes working full-time for 18-months with a host organization on a specific project along with training, peer learning and mentoring. The fellows will receive a monthly stipend of up to INR 20,000 and other benefits

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for the fellowship programme, an applicant must -

    • Be an Indian citizen
    • Be between 20 and 30 years of age
    • Be a graduate degree holder in any discipline or about to complete graduation in any discipline by 1st July 2022
    • Be ready for an 18-month full-time commitment to the fellowship
    • Be ready to be placed in any part of the country and in any thematic area

     

    Note - The selected candidates can be placed in any part of the country and in any thematic area.

    Benefits

    The selected fellows will receive the following benefits - 

    • An opportunity to receive a unique 18-month training program and attend various workshops which will be divided into 3 parts of 15 days each at the start, middle and end of the journey.
    • Monthly stipend of INR 16,000 in rural areas and INR 20,000 in urban areas which will include the living expenses like accommodation, food and travel of the applicant.  
    • Work assignment leading social organizations committed to bring positive change. This can be anywhere across the country. 
    • Constant engagement 
    • Exposure to mentorship

Selection Criteria

The selection procedure for the fellowship involves the following steps -

  • Initial shortlisting of online applications
  • Telephonic conversation with the shortlisted candidates
  • A written assignment and an in-depth conversation
  • Final round consists of matching fellows to a suitable role with a social organization
Terms and Conditions
  • The fellow has to fundraise a total amount of at least INR 60,000 through the 18-month fellowship towards their training costs. This will be done by the cohort as a collective action initiative with adequate support from the fellowship team.
  • Throughout the term of the fellowship, fellows will document their observations, experiences and insights in the form of monthly blogs and a detailed year-end essay.
