About The Program

Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata invites applications from Indian nationals for an independent research proposal on Indian Cinema, Electronic and Digital Media. The prestigious institute is providing students with the opportunity to become a fellow and earn up to INR 1,00,000.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

The following students are eligible for the fellowship: 

  • Indian nationals
  • Post-graduate/diploma degree holders
  • Scholars, researchers and practitioners precisely acquainted with the specific aspect of media, culture and society
Benefits

The selected fellows will receive a scholarship of INR 100,000 that will be disbursed in the following manner:

  • Three equal instalments of INR 30,000
  • A maximum of INR 10,000 as reimbursement towards contingency expenditure
Documents

The following documents are required to be attached to the application mail:

  • Application form (Submit .docx/ pdf file)
  • Proposal  (submit .docx/ pdf file)
  • One sample work (if any)  [article in .pdf format, audio-visual in .mp4 format]
  • One passport photograph (300 dpi) [submit .jpg file]
  •  Scanned copy of certificate in support of academic qualifications [.jpg / .pdf file]
  •  Scanned copy of supporting documents / Transaction No. of the submission fee

Terms and conditions

  • The applicant should hold an account in any bank in India
  • Fellows will be required to submit two interim reports at the end of 2nd and 4th months and final submission of an article of 7000 words including endnotes and references, or an audio-visual material of 10-15 minutes duration along with a write up of 7000 words including endnotes and references during the final presentation of the research project at SRFTI
  • The fellows are not required to be a resident of SRFTI
  • Candidates will be provided 2AC rail fare (both way) for final presentation at SRFTI
