About the Program

The Department of Posts under Ministry of Communications, Government of India invites any Indian citizen of all age group to participate in the Independence Day-Photography Competition 2018. The competition is organized to promote holiday destinations of India via Postal Stamps along with awarding prizes up to INR 50,000 to the winners.

    First Prize Winner will get a reward of INR 50,000.

    Second Prize Winner will get a reward of INR 25,000.

    Third Prize Winner will get a reward of INR 10,000.

    Five participants will also be awarded an INR 5,000 consolation prize each. 

    How can you apply?

    Step 1: Click here to open the competition webpage.
    Step 2: Register/login on the portal to continue.
    Step 3: Click on “Do this task now” button to activate your entry.
    Step 4: Select ‘Submit your task’ under ‘All Comments’ section and upload your photograph.

    Note: Applicants applying through the offline process can send their entry on a standard photographic paper of A4 size along with a soft copy on CD to below address.

Selection Criteria

The winners will be judged on the visual appeal of their submitted photograph.

Terms and Conditions
  • The shared photograph should be original with no copyright issues.
  • The photograph uploaded online should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi & minimum data size of 5 MB.
  • Offline entries should reach the mentioned address by 10 July 2018.
  • Offline entries can be sent through “Speed Post” only having “Independence Day 2018-Photography Competition” mentioned on the envelope.
  • The applicants are also required to mention their Name, Age, Gender, Nationality, Full & complete with Pin code, Phone/Mobile Number, Date and details of place of which photo clicked, Equipment details through which photo clicked viz. camera model on the reverse side of their entries or on the my gov portal.
