About The Program
The IITM Summer Internship 2025 is an opportunity provided by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune, to students pursuing M.Sc. or M.Tech degrees. This 2-3 month internship provides an opportunity for the students to work and gain practical knowledge under the guidance of a scientist member at IITM. The selected candidates will receive variable benefits.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be pursuing post-graduation
- have secured at least 55% marks (or equivalent CGPA) in all the examinations, Class 10 onwards

Documents
- A photograph (jpg/.png/.gif formats, maximum size of 100 KB)
- A single PDF file (maximum size of 3 MB) containing the following documents:
- Scanned copies of academic marksheets for Classes 10 and 12, as well as all years of B.Sc./B.Tech., available marksheets of Master’s degree (M.Sc./M.Tech.)
- Letter of recommendation from the Head of Department of the student’s institute, mentioning the name of the IITM scientist mentor with whom the student wishes to do the internship.
- Email consent from the scientist mentor at IITM (whose name is mentioned in the letter of recommendation).

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-

Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Scroll down on the page and click on the ‘Click here to apply’ link.
Step 4: Fill the application form with all the mentioned details and upload the necessary documents.
Step 6: Enter the captcha and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Note:- Before submitting the online application, students will have to contact the IITM scientist mentors(listed in Annexure 1) of their choice and their research interest via email and receive their consent for internship guidance.

- Failure to submit the mentioned documents can lead to the cancellation of the application.
- A total of 30 summer internship positions are available for the academic year 2024-25.
- IITM will provide hostel accommodation to 15 outstation students. Local students shall not receive hostel accommodation.
- Only 2 interns will be allocated per IITM scientist mentor.
- Consent from an IITM scientist and application submission do not guarantee a selection for the summer internship.
