About The Program

IIT Roorkee Hydro & Renewable Energy Department (HRED) Post-Doctoral Fellowship 2022 is a research opportunity offered to Ph.D. degree holders. The selected candidate is required to work on a project entitled - “Oxidative Torrefaction and Densification of Residual Biomass for Co-firing". The candidate will receive a consolidated fellowship of INR 55,000 per month for the first and second years INR 60,000 per month for the third year and a contingency of INR 50,000 per annum.

To be eligible, an applicant must - 

  • Hold a Ph.D. degree from any of the Premier or Government Institutes of the country in any department, with thesis work on any of the thermochemical biomass conversion processes (Gasification, Pyrolysis, Torrefaction, Carbonization, Combustion) or Pelletization of Biomass
  • Have knowledge and experience of Characterization Techniques for Biomass, Biochar, Pellets, Tars, and Flue gas
  • Have published at least one research paper as the first author in an international peer-reviewed journal with an impact factor >3

 

Desirable Qualifications - 

  • Have knowledge of any of the process modelling and simulation software, or LCA software

The candidate will receive a consolidated fellowship of INR 55,000 per month for the first and second years INR 60,000 per month for the third year and a contingency of INR 50,000 per annum.
