Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee invites applications for IIT Roorkee Excellence in Doctoral Research Award 2020 from students getting a PhD degree in annual convocation 2020. A maximum of five awards are given in a year. These awards will be in two categories: (a) Fundamental Research, (b) Applied Research. The program offers the selected fellows an opportunity to receive a cash prize of INR 50,000 and a citation.

- Be getting a PhD degree in the annual convocation 2020
Benefits The award will carry a citation and a cash prize of INR 50,000.
How can you apply? The application can be done by both post and email through the following steps -

Step 2: Sign up to register.
Step 3: Once registered, log in to complete the application process.
Step 4: Fill in all required details and attach all supporting documents.
Step 5: Submit the application.
Important Dates
Application deadline: 15th June 2020 (tentative)
Selection Criteria
- Shortlisted students will be required to make a presentation to a common committee formed from the three committees made for the screening of applications.
- Shortlisted candidates who will not be available in the campus can make their presentation using video conferencing.
- Recommendations of the interview committee will be presented in the Senate for final approval.
Terms and Conditions
- Three different committees will be constituted to screen the applications.
- The three committees will be for the following group of departments/centres:
(a) All engineering departments, AHEC, CoEDMM, CTRANS
(b) All Science departments, IIC, Centre for Nano Technology
(c) DoMS, HSS, A & P - Shortlisted candidates who will not be available in the campus can make their presentation using video conferencing.
