About The Program
IIT Roorkee Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy (HRED) Post-Doctoral Fellowship 2021 is a research opportunity offered to Ph.D. degree holders. The selected candidate is required to work on a project entitled - “Environmental Management of Water Bodies through Waste Algal Biomass-based Energy Production and Greenhouse Gas Mitigation”. The candidate will receive a consolidated fellowship of INR 55,000 per month for the first 2 years and INR 60,000 per month for the third year and a contingency of INR 50,000 per annum.

To be eligible, an applicant must -
- Hold a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Microbiology/Environmental Engineering/Biogas Technology/Algal Bioprocessing/Environmental Management of Waterbodies or related fields with a research background in the areas related to the project
Desirable qualifications:
- The candidate must have at least 02 SCI papers as a first (or corresponding) author based on the Ph.D. research work
- The candidate must have at least 1–2 years of experience in Biogas, Algal Blooms and Wastewater Management, Environmental Management of Water Bodies or related areas
- The candidate must have hands-on experience in handling the Microbial Cultures and Water Samples
*Candidates who have recently submitted their thesis are also eligible to apply subject to the condition that they should furnish the proof of the award of Ph.D. degree at the time of interview at IIT Roorkee if shortlisted
Benefits
The candidate will receive a consolidated fellowship of INR 55,000 per month for the first 2 years and INR 60,000 per month for the third year and a contingency of INR 50,000 per annum.
