About The Program
IIT Roorkee Chemistry Department Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) 2022 is a research opportunity offered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee to Ph.D. degree holders. The fellowship is meant for the project titled - “Visible Light Photoredox Catalysed C-2 Functionalization of Benzoxazoles." The selected fellow will receive INR 55,000 per month for the first and the second year INR 60,000 per month for the third year with a contingency grant of INR 50,000 per annum.

To be eligible, an applicant must-
- Hold a Ph.D. degree in organic synthesis with high-quality work in one or more of the following areas –
- Catalysis
- Visible-light-induced reactions,
- Radical chemistry.
- Have at least two publications from the applicant as a first author/main author in a Q1 journal having a good impact factor
Benefits
The selected fellow will receive INR 55,000 per month for the first and the second year INR 60,000 per month for the third year with a contingency grant of INR 50,000 per annum.

- The duration of the fellowship will be of two years extendable to one more year, if necessary.
- The candidate is expected to join the Department as soon as the offer letter has been released.
- All the postdoctoral fellows (PDF) will be registered as IIT Roorkee students for availing the facilities of accommodation, hospital, medical insurance scheme, computer center, library, sports etc. They will also be governed by the leave rules as applicable to the post graduate students.
- The candidates called for presentation/discussion/interview will be paid II-AC train fare from their place of residence/work and back by the shortest route within India. OR
- In the wake of the existing pandemic, the interview can be conducted online.
