About The Program
IIT Kanpur Department of Mathematics and Statistics Project Post-Doctoral Fellowship 2021 is a fellowship opportunity offered to Ph.D. degree holders. The selected fellow is required to work on a project entitled - "Estimating High-dimensional Covariance Matrices in Markov Chain Monte Carlo". The selected fellow will receive a consolidated salary of up to INR 50,000/55,000/60,000 per month.

To be eligible, an applicant must -
- Hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics (with a focus on probabilistic machine learning)
Desired Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics (with focus on probabilistic machine learning)
- A strong background in statistical computing, Bayesian statistics, machine learning, optimization, linear algebra
- Knowledge of statistical languages like R, Python, C++
Note - The candidates who have submitted their thesis can also apply.
