About The Program
IIT Kanpur Department of Earth Sciences (ES) Junior Research Fellowship 2021 is a fellowship opportunity offered to graduate/postgraduate degree holders. The selected fellow is required to work on a project entitled - "Characterization of Groundwater in Seismically Active Regions of Uttarakhand, India: Implications for Earthquake-induced Variations". The selected fellow will receive a consolidated salary of INR 31,000 per month.

To be eligible, an applicant must -
- Hold an M.Sc./M.Tech. degree in Applied Geology/Geology/Geo-exploration/Geological Technology/Earth Sciences/related field
- Have integrated(M.Sc./M.Tech)/BS-MS degree in Geology/Applied Geology/Geological Technology/Earth Sciences/related field
- Hold a B.E./B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in scientific programming languages (e.g., Matlab, R, FORTRAN and Python)
- Working experience with groundwater monitoring equipment and basic software packages.
- Basic knowledge of hydrogeology.
- Experience in hydrogeology fieldwork.
Benefits
The selected fellow will receive a consolidated salary of INR 31,000 per month.
