About The Program
IIT Indore Department of Metallurgy Engineering and Materials Science (MEMS) Junior Research Fellowship 2022 is an opportunity offered to M.Sc./M.Tech. degree holders. The selected fellow is required to work on SERB funded project titled - “Polymer-Ceramic Composite Electrolytes for Rechargeable Lithium Metal Batteries”. The focus of this project would be on ceramic polymer composite materials for the potential application in all-solid-state lithium batteries as electrolytes. The selected candidate will receive a fellowship of INR 31,000 per month for the first 2 years and INR 35,000 per month for the 3rd year as per the SERB norms.

To be eligible, an applicant must -
- Hold an M.Sc./M.Tech. degree in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science/Nanotechnology/Ceramics Engineering
- Have qualified NET/ GATE
- Have expertise in any of the following -
- Synthesis of inorganic (oxides, phosphates, or sulfides) materials
- Experience in crystal structure and microstructure determination using powder XRD, SEM, TEM, Raman spectroscopy, etc
- Familiarity with impedance spectroscopy
- Basic electrochemistry characterization
Benefits
The selected candidate will receive a fellowship of INR 31,000 per month for the first 2 years and INR 35,000 per month for the 3rd year as per the SERB norms.
