About The Program
IIEST Shibpur Department of Mining Engineering Junior Research Fellowship 2021 is for M.E./M.Tech/B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc degree holders. The fellowship is meant for the project titled “Development of a Geomechanical Model for Cyclic CO2 Injection and Methane Release through Experimental Studies of Matrix Shrinkage/Swelling, Mechanical Properties, and Permeability of Coals". The selected candidate will receive a fellowship of INR 31,000 per month. Additionally, House Rent Allowance (8%) may be given if hostel accommodation is not provided, as per DST norms.
EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
To be eligible, an applicant must -
- Be preferably below 30 years of age
- Hold an M.E./M.Tech degree in Mining/Civil/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university/institute with 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a ten-point scale throughout from Class X to the qualifying degree
- Have completed M.E/M.Tech program through qualification in GATE, OR
- Hold a B.E./B.Tech degree in Mining/Civil/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university/institute with a minimum aggregate of 80% marks or CGPA of 8.5 on a ten-point scale throughout from Class X to the qualifying degree, OR
- Hold an M.Sc degree in Geology/Geophysics from a recognized university/institute with GATE/NET qualification with 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a ten-point scale throughout from Class X to the qualifying degree
Desirable Qualification: Strong grasp of Mechanics and Mathematics
