The International Institute of Asian Studies invites applications from outstanding Indian scholars for a 10-month fellowship at the research institute based in Leiden University, Netherlands. Selected fellows can further extend their research fellowship by taking up an optional 2-month fellowship at the Collège d’études mondiales of the Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme (CEM-FMSH) in Paris.
The fellowship is open to PhD holders in social sciences and humanities, with focus on Asian studies research. Applicants need to propose a research topic that falls under the given IIAS clusters 'Asian Cities', 'Asian Heritage', or 'Global Asia', or an outstanding project in an area outside the above.
To be eligible for the fellowship, an applicant must be an outstanding researcher who has either completed all the requirements of their PhD, or a PhD candidate due to complete their PhD within 5 months of the application deadline.
