About The Program

The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Foundation invites applications for the IFMA Foundation Scholarship Program 2021 from undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in Facility Management or related programs. The aim of the scholarship is to change lives and create the next generation of FM professionals. The FM students selected for this scholarship can benefit from an individual scholarship of up to USD 10,000. The scholarship recipients will also attend IFMA’s World Workplace Conference and Exhibition in Chicago, IL and participate in IFMA Foundation activities.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be an undergraduate (2-year and 4-year) or graduate student
  • Be enrolled at an accredited institution in Facility Management (FM) or related program
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.2 in FM or related courses or documents confirming academic achievement level equivalent to a 4.0 GPA.

Note: Working students are also eligible.

Benefits

The scholarship recipients will receive the following benefits:

  • Individual scholarship from USD 1,500 to USD 10,000
  • Fully funded travel, accommodations, meals, and registration to attend IFMA’s World Workplace Conference and Exhibition to be held in Chicago.
Documents

The order of the documents in the PDF must follow the order specified below. Attach additional documents as exhibits at the end of the PDF document providing appropriate references to the exhibits in the flow of the application:

  • Application
  • Transcripts
  • Letter of professional intent
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Resume/CV
  • Additional supporting documents (i.e. additional list of courses, certifications, etc.)

Note: Applicants must also include a separate high-resolution headshot (photo) in .png or .jpeg format. This photograph will be used for marketing and recognition purposes in case of selection for the scholarship.

Step 3: Complete the entire application form.
Step 4: Provide contact details, academic details and answer the questions asked in the form.
Step 5: Attach the supporting documents and prepare the application as a single PDF file.

Step 7: The subject line of the email should read – LAST NAME, FIRST NAME – 2021 IFMA Scholarship Application.

Note: Applicants will receive an email response confirming receipt within 24 hours.

Selection Criteria

The selection will be based on the following factors -

  • Academic and professional achievement
  • Letter of professional intent
  • Resume
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Geography
  • Industries of interest
  • Affiliation to IFMA Chapters and councils
  • Professional facility management knowledge and the value it has in the field
  • Establishing a unique and lasting impression after reading application
Terms and Conditions
  • Handwritten applications will not be accepted.
  • Incomplete applications must not be sent as they may lead to disqualification.
  • The complete application must be submitted as a single PDF file with all the supporting documents.
  • The fonts should be 10- or 12-point standard, easy-to-read fonts, such as Arial or Times New Roman.
  • The questions asked in the application must be within the specified word limit.
  • Applications without transcripts will be automatically disqualified.
  • The FM related programs include but are not limited to, construction management, architecture, interior design and some engineering disciplines.
