ICMR-Vector Control Research Centre Scholarship 2018-20 invites applications from students who are willing to pursue a postgraduate degree program in Public Health Entomology. The key objective of the scholarship is to enable students to develop practical skills essential for operational programmes and to promote integrated vector management.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility An applicant must be seeking admission under any of the following categories -- Category 1 -
This is an open competition open for students, who have passed a university exam accepted by the Academic Council of Pondicherry University in following programs -- BSc in Life Sciences/Botany/Zoology/Microbiology/Medical Laboratory Technology/Ecology/Environmental Science/Biochemistry or
- MBBS, or
- BVSc, or
- BE/BTech degree in biotechnology.
Note: The students who are appearing for the final examinations or waiting for the results can also apply.- Category 2 A-
- The in-service candidates who are in government/non-government organization can apply for this scholarship under this category
- They should also have passed the degree examination for courses mentioned in Category 1 from a recognized university accepted by the Academic Council of Pondicherry University.
- Category 2 B-
- The foreign nationals can apply under this category who have passed the degree examination for courses mentioned in Category 1 or have obtained an equivalent certificate for Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
Note: Their applications should be submitted through their employer or nominating/sponsoring authority/organization.Benefits With the approval of the Admission Committee, the selected candidates under Category 1 will receive INR 6000 per month while the candidates selected under Category 2A will receive INR 3000 per month.Documents - Degree certificate

- Certificate of nationality
- Age proof certificate
- Community certificate (applicable for OBC/SC/ST candidates)
- No objection certificate issued by the employer (if applicable)
- Certificate of sponsorship (if applicable)
- A self-addressed envelope stamped to the value of INR 50.

The applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria can apply for the scholarship offline through following steps -Step 1: Download the application form from here.Step 2: Fill in all required details.Step 3: Attach all required documents.Step 4: Prepare a demand draft of INR 100 (INR 50 for SC/ST candidates) applicable towards the application fee, in the favour of "The Director, ICMR-Vector Control Research Centre", payable at Puducherry.Step 5: Send the duly filled application form along with all supporting documents through Registered/Speed post with envelope superscribed as - "APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO M.Sc., PHE 2018" to -The Director, ICMR-Vector Control Research Centre, MedicalComplex, Indira Nagar, Puducherry 605 006

Selection Criteria
A total of 12 seats are available under this programme -
Category 1 - 8 Seats
Category 2 - 4 Seats
The selection of the candidates under different category may vary -
Category 1 - The selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in the common entrance test.
Category 2 A - The selection for this category will be based on personal interview.
Category 2 B - The selection for this category will be based on reference/letter of recommendation from the employer, experience in the relevant field and marks obtained in graduation.
