About The Program

ICMR-NIMR New Delhi Junior Project Research Fellowship 2022 is a research opportunity offered by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in partnership with the National Institute of Malaria Research to graduate/postgraduate degree holders. The candidate is required to work on a project entitled - "Demonstration of Malaria Elimination in the Predominantly Tribal Population Inhabited Nancowry Group of Islands of Andaman and Nicobar Archipelago”. The candidate will receive a fixed salary of INR 31,000 per month plus 27% HRA.

To be eligible, an applicant must-

  • Be 35 years of age
  • Hold a postgraduate degree in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Microbiology/ Molecular Biology OR graduate/postgraduate degree in a professional Course
  • Be selected through any one of the following - 
    • National Eligibility Tests- CSIR-UGC, NET, including lectureship and GATE OR 
    • National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.

  • Have experience in molecular biology and bioinformatics tools

  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview/personal discussion/written test.

  • Mere fulfilling the essential qualification/ experience does not guarantee selection.
  • Posts are contractual for the duration offered.
  • Interview will be held on the same day after registration and verification of documents. No candidate will be allowed to enter after scheduled date and time.
  • If there are more than 30 candidates against the post, the written examination will be conducted and shortlisted candidates will be considered for interview/personal discussion on the same day.
  • Experience shall be counted from the date of completion of minimum essential educational qualifications.
  • Submission of incorrect or false information during the process of walk-in-interview/personal discussion shall disqualify the candidature at any stage.
  • The Director reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of vacancies as per requirement.
  • The Director, NIMR reserves the right to fill up or not to fill up the post advertised on the website.
  • The candidate should write the Name of the Project on the top of the application.
  • No benefit of provident fund, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim etc. will be considered, since the post is purely on a temporary basis.
  • Candidates should produce all certifications/testimonials in original for verification at the time of the walk-in–interview.
  • Candidates reporting after the scheduled date/time will not be allowed to appear in interviews/or personal discussions.
